Oh, memories . . .

It's been fun thinking of funny old things that have happened. In case anyone else wants to add here, feel free. (This will serve as our memory tag post. I'm just going to go ahead and assume most people have seen this already.)

Is it kosher to comment on your own blog? Oh well. A memory about Alex . . . the first day that we met we went grocery shopping with his roommates (who I was friends with). Afterward we hung out at my apartment for a bit. When they were all leaving, Alex asked, "Would you like me to take out your garbage?" He did and it was then that I knew that I wanted him to take out my garbage for the rest of my life. Ha ha.

Remember the time we were sitting around the fire pit at my house and we took a paper plate and decorated it with mustard and ketchup and had it symbolize interval. Then we danced around the fire as we burned it. Oh how I miss interval, I am so unflexible now.

Remember when we sang Britney Spears songs in the back of the car on that family trip. We were crazy (that was also a fun dance)! Or when you cut my hair that one time before a team get-together, and it kept getting shorter and shorter...or all those experimental dinners we made when we lived together, that actually turned out great most of the time. Good times.

This comment is for Alex, Whenever I see a caution wet floor sign I think of the time you walked down the isles at Macey's with the sign over your head repeating like a robot "Cuidado, piso mojado." Yeah your crazy, but that's okay.

Where to begin? My whole life is a memory of Alex, I was always in his shadow. I could never get rid of his greatness. That's all right though, he sometimes came in handy, like the time he stood up for his little sister and beat up Tyler Bergen. Alex, you were awesome. "Hey, I'm vine man!"

my memory of you has to be dress up. every time we played dress up we would take it further and further. we added accessories, and fake moles, and dares to go out in public. one day it finally evolved to us being Fraun and Braunch. you owned a Cafe and we would have tea parties and speak in funny accents. then we would go into your backyard and try to scare the elementary students out at recess. we were so dumb, but who cares. it was fun.

The first thing that came to mind was when Alex would do readings of "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handy. And all the other times that he would use fun and crazy voices to add to the humor of the moment. I don't know why but am often reminded of the red neck family photo album and the voice you used when you would read it. Good times.

I am thinking of the times that Alex wore out of the ordinary clothes and accessories; i.e. a bright yellow shirt with brown plaid pants, the Britney Spears backpack or the ET backpack. He had an amazing sense of his self worth and it was not defined by what he wore. I like that. I also like the Deep Thoughts. Don't feel too bad about traveling in Alex's shadow, Teresa. I have been there also, and it's not a bad place to be!
